i am not a fan of noisy vehicles in pristine areas:
snowmobiles, jet skies & atv's are not on my list of acceptable modes of transportation
but as they say... "when in rome..."

 

and
it is amazing to be on the ocean, not a highway to go somewhere
especially if that somewhere is only accessible from either beach or boat
in my host's defense, we slow to a crawl (and very little noise) anytime we approach people
which, as maybe you can tell, isn't very often
and we give cold soda & water to the fisherman (and in the evenings, cerveza) and to the kids
